World championship is the highest tournament in the game of carrom which is conducted once in 4 years. 8th World Carrom championship was supposed to be in 2020 but owing to pandemic it was postponed to Oct 3-7 2022.
18 countries participated in the event with 2 nations entering for the first time ( Singapore & Nepal).
Overall there were 130 players competing for their country in 7 different events. Along with the players there were 10 international refree candidates who were writing the International examinations. Out of which Singapore had 2 candidates.
